About Abyss
Piracy stands for the acts of robbery, pillaging or plundering — usually at sea but also on shore — by one or several individuals who do not pledge allegiance to a sovereign nation.
These individuals are known as pirates.

Writers' Guidelines
Writers must have an AO3 account.
Minimum word count: 2k — no maximum.
Artists' Guidelines
Please do not use the claiming feature on AO3, to avoid any confusion with the writers’ claims. Once you have chosen your AO3 prompt, please fill out the artists' claiming form. You are allowed to choose a prompt that has already been claimed by a writer on AO3.
Submissions must be made via email to [email protected], following the same schedule as for writers.
Artists will be posting their art on their account and tagging the fest account during fic reveals, following the schedule established by the mods. We will then retweet these posts and compile them into a thread on our account to make them more easily accessible.
Please tag your art appropriately (NSFW, etc.).
Rules and Restrictions
GENERAL RULES.
At least one main character BTS member must be/become a pirate. Aside from this requirement, all genres/tropes are welcome — fantasy, dystopia, sci-fi, witchcraft, hybrids, a/b/o, angels, demons, greek gods, vampires, dragons, etc.
Participants must be 18+ to submit a NSFW work.
Works must be properly tagged.
Works must remain anonymous until reveals (art reveals for artists, author reveals for writers). WIP sneak peeks are allowed as long as they do not reveal the prompt you claimed.
Works must be original and cannot be the continuation of a previous work.
WIPs are allowed — but all works must respect the minimum word count requirement (2k). For chaptered WIPs, the first chapter must be finished and at least 2k words.
Check-ins are simply an opportunity for the mods to check whether participants are still on board with the fest — we will not ask for a specific word count or state of progression. However, these check-ins are mandatory; if we do not hear back from participants within three weeks after the check-in form is sent, your claim may be deleted as a result.
All BTS pairings and poly ships are welcome.
FEST RESTRICTIONS.
Works must not contain any of the following themes: underage, necrophilia, pedophilia, grooming, bestiality, vore, gore, incest, explicit descriptions of rape/dub-con/non-con, mpreg, dead dove, racism, or any form of discrimination.
Dark/sensitive themes are allowed, so long as works are tagged accordingly and properly. We reserve the right to refuse submissions which are not tagged appropriately.
Please feel free to contact us if you are unsure about something.
Failure to comply with the fest’s rules and restrictions may result in your claim being deleted and you being blacklisted from the fest.
Prompting and Claiming
PROMPTING.
One person can submit up to 15 prompts.
Please specify your DWs (do wants) and DNWs (do not wants). Beyond these guidelines, the writer will have full creative freedom. Please bear in mind that this fest is artists-friendly.
Prompts can be as vague or detailed as desired, but they must be original and cannot be the continuation of a previous work.
Prompts must respect the fest’s restrictions.
Do not post self-prompts on AO3 — these will be made available by the mods at the end of the prompting period.
CLAIMING.
Each participant can claim a maximum of 2 prompts.
Each prompt can be claimed by only 1 participant (no multiple claims on the same prompt). This will be determined on a first come first served basis.
Each participant can claim a self-prompt only once.
Each participant must fill out the claiming form accordingly for the participation to be counted. Your claim may be deleted if you fail to comply with this rule.
